Printing with Capture One
I've recently purchased Capture One Express and have been trying to print some things. The output is looks very nice, but the colors are off. I have tried to calibrate my monitor and have it set to sRGB, and have tried with color management off and on on the printer. Can someone give me some guidance (or point me to a decent reference) regarding printing pictures, color management etc? Thanks for any help or suggestions!

From Phase One you could review the Color Management guide:

Cambridge in Colour website has some very readable tutorials on color management and printing:
http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm
Scroll down to "color management and printing" section.
To take a shortcut: Start with a calibrated monitor (buy a colorimeter). This is your baseline. Next, output your images with Capture One using either the sRGB or AdobeRGB color space. The sRGB space is smaller but might give you better results if you do not sufficiently control the color management processes. Third, decide whether you choose to let the printer manage color or the application/computer. Having the printer control your colors gives you less flexibility but is less prone to errors and vice versa. Make notes of all the controls and settings on the printouts. Last, use only the manufacturer's ink and paper to eliminate to much variables.0 -
Perfect. Thanks! 0 -
do you ever print direct from C1, or typically output a TIFF and print from something else, such as PS?
Which gives better control, or is easier (knowing the two are different!)?
Thanks,

I have been printing direct from C1 and getting some very nice results. The problem I had was in not specifically setting whether the printer or the application would manage color. 0
