Skin Tones Question
I have downloaded recipes & skin tone add-ons.
The recipes appear ok in C1 and are located in the folder ... Library/Application Support/Capture One/Recipes.
However the skin tone add-ons do not appear under the 'Color' section in C1?
Where exactly are they located in the folder system and how does one get them activated in C1
What am I missing here please?
Thank you
Bernard

Settings has to be stored in ... ~/Library/Application Support/Capture One/...
(just like your recipes).
so "Styles" have to be stored in the folder "Styles".
If there's no such foder yet, just create one.
(we are talking about the Pro version, no?)0 -
Confusing confusing it is...
Thowi is correct but I correct him as the OP was referring to Skin Tones, not Styles. In the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Capture One/.. you can make a subfolder ../Skin Tones.
Note that some of these support folders are created after your first start of CO5, some after you created the first preset in the program. So you can make your first Skin Tone yourself in the program, which will create the folder. Next, copy the additional downloaded skin tones into that folder to be sure to get the folder name right.
And yes, you need CO5 Pro or DB for this feature as Thowi stated.0 -
Many thanks......created a skin tone and saved it.
I then transferred the downloaded skin tones into that newly-created folder.
The one I created i.e. face.xlm does appear but not the downloaded ones.??
I do notice that the imported ones do not have the .xml suffix.
An example would be:
Name: Bluetone blue purple
Kind: ICC profile
This must be where the problem is but I do not understand the implications.
Thanks again for any further comments.

where did you download those "skin tones". There must be a note about intallation...?
an ICC Profile is not a "Skin Tone". However it might be an ICC Profile that is optimized for skin tones.
Maybe you've downloaded a set of settings... i.e. Skin Tone settings and ICC Profiles that work together.
icc profiles have to be stored in:
~/Library/Color Sync/Profiles
those will show up in Capture One under "Base Characteristics" -> "ICC Profile" -> "Other"0 -
I got them from Capture-U site.
In the download section I downloaded the Training_profiles.zip. Not sure why I thought that they were skin tones!!!
They are obviously for some other purpose. Do not know what that might be but ........
Thank you anyway ..... I was wrong on this one.
