converting & image order using 20D & 10D
I am having big problems trying to convert files from 20D & 10D used at the same event. I am having to put CR2 files from the 20D into a different folder from the CRW files from the 10D as the same settings apparently cannot be applied to both. Is there a way around this? The other problem concerns the image order. The CRW files cannot be put into the right order no matter what I try. The files follow a numeric order based on all numbers beginning with 1 and then all 2s (1, 10-19, 100- etc). This means the images taken under the same lighting conditions are not always together. Can someone please help?????!!

Mr. Kearney,
You are attempting to combine 2 different Camera Product and Camera Profiles of the Color Management Settings within the same Session.
I believe your method of splitting the job into a Session folder specific to each camera model is a good one. If you are doing a WB, adjusting color on a calibrated monitor and outputting the same color space the end result should be pretty close from each camera and shooting situation.
While possible to combine both cameras’ images into the same Session folder, you will need to use caution. i.e. You would have to set and apply WB and color settings to only the 10D files within the Session. You would then establish Color Management Settings accordingly with 10D profile ( read and set from XIF data ); and then load images to Batch queue and process. Then you would have to repeat all steps for the 20D files.
Color adjustments and processing should be separate for best output. Results may not be good applying a Generic 20D setting to a 10D image. Maybe this is what you meant when you said you were having Big Problems.
Naming files is possible at the Thumbnail area. Once the name is changed there, be sure that you keep it that way by choosing Preferences > Process settings tab; and then check only the box Use capture name as default name. Under the Sample name: area you will clearly see what the processed files names will consist of.
Sincerely,
