If you scroll down through the recent listed postings you will probably find several discussions that describe the same or similar situations. You don't have to look beyond a screen full.

There are some suggestions about how to deal with the issue at this point.

I don't have the problem in my work flow so I have not become interested in the answers directly but it's always useful to know what others are concerned about.

    HTH.

Thanks for the heads up. I will look.

I like a lot about this app, but P1 have a ways to go still toward making it polished and robust.

    Perhaps.

As does Microsoft with Windows 10 .... and just about everyone with any product that is seen as a "leader" or "successful" in it genre.

In Apple world Aperture was so complete and successful that Apple effectively canned it.

Why would a huge organisation like Apple do something like that?

We live in "agile" times. To assume that keeping up with technological advances yet still offering a "polished and robust" product is at all likely seems to me to be a bit challenging. More than that. It is pretty much impossible by definition. Developers would have to be a long way ahead of the game to add the polish and robustness. I cannot foresee that that will ever be the case.

If those who control the development space - say Apple and Microsoft in this case - cannot make their own products polished and robust at every release then anyone attempting to work with their technology will also fail IF they have a perceived need to keep up with the latest and greatest "technology". Other QC matters will fail on the back of that commitment.

You could pay huge amounts for "industrial grade" software in a corporate business environment and discover even greater shortcomings from the market leaders. It is the way it is. ( I am not referring to just Photo Editing applications when making this observation.)

Of course when you invest in industrial grade software, whether it works or not, the costs are somewhat higher and usually a maintenance contract is a requirement. It might just be worth it for those who can justify the fees.

The consumer reality is much simpler:

I bought this product. Does it work sufficiently to enable me to complete my task with a minimum of hassle? This level of color distortion is bad enough that until it is fixed, Capture One is essentially broken for me.

Could the problem be the same as has been reported where when exporting an image the ICC Profile stays as 'Embed Camera Profile' rather than 'Adobe RGB (1998)' as is the standard for external editors?

This caused some weird effects for me until I found out what was wrong.

I have reported this to technical support and they said they would do something about it in (I presume) the next update.
