I regularly and consistently got that running 4.8 and 5.0 (it was worse in 5.0) . I even raised a support case as i believe c1 has a memory leak. It was not related to the number of images in the folder, as i reduced the numbers down to less than 100 files. it was more time related. 1-1.5 hours and memory usage evenutually got to about 1.3gb, and it failed.
i did discover if you don't click ok to the error message, but go straight the the file menu and close c1, you can avoid the task manager route. i eventually ended up setting a windows perfromance monitor (run 'perfmon' ) alert to watch the c1 memory usage for me and warn me when it was getting near danger level so i could close and restart in a controlled manner. a total pain, but better than having my machine locked up by c1 every hour.
Support had no real clue. the latest advice was upgrde to 5.0.1 as that apparently has some improvements in memory handling. i have upgraded, but haven't had a batch of raws to do for a while. i have some scheduled for after christmas, so will be expecting to be able to work for more than an hour in c1 without it crashing.0 -
OK. Thanks for the Task Manager trick.
I am running C1 5.0.1 Build 33841 on Windows 7 PC.
I think I will open a case0
