Layered TIFFs - Very Slow Response Time
Is anyone having issues working with layered TIFFs? My issues involve very slow response times. I'm round-triping to Photoshop. When I select a TIFF file in the Browser, I get the Mac OS X spinning beach ball for about 4 seconds and Capture One performance really slows down. The issue is the same regardless if it's an 8-bit or 16-bit TIFF file.
The TIFFs are made from uncompressed .NEF RAWs from a D810. The RAWs display and handle just fine.
MAC OS X 10.10.3
Capture One 8.3.0.52
iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6970M w/ 2048 MB VRAM
System and Applications run on an internal 240 GB SATA SSD
Files are stored on an internal 2 TB SATA Hard Drive

What version of Capture are you using?

For me too I'm using Capture One Pro 8.3.0.52. Switching between .ARW files (Sony RAW files) is nearly instanteous. If I click on a TIF it seems that nothing happens and after roughly 4 seconds the selection frame appears on the image. If I click on another image within the 4 second time span the beach ball occurs and spins for the rest of the 4 seconds and after that the other image gets selected. So C1 really hangs when loading that TIF and a 4 second hang on any TIF is really cumbersome when navigating through the library.
I have a MacBook Pro Retina 15" with i7, 16GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. The catalog and TIF files reside on the internal SSD.

I've just experienced this too, but on the latest version of C1. Working with a larger layered TIFF that was created in Photoshop (RAW originally imported in to C1, minor adjustments made, selected to edit in PS).
I am essentially unable to make any adjustments to the image as it takes too long for any tool to register. Program has frozen and hung a few times as well.0 -
I'm facing the same problem. I work a lot with compositions saving them in layered TIFF. C1 is a bit faster when I flatten the image before saving but that is no option for me. 0 -

Hi,
i have the same problem here with a Macbook Pro Retina (i7 2,6 gHz and 16 Go Ram).
Tiff file takes approximatively 3s to open.
Is there a solution ?

Same problem for me with all layered TIFF files, the support asked me :
"
The TIF files used in Capture One - you have to flatten the layers on the file before you use in Capture One - layers from PhotoShop are not supported in Capture One on TIF files.
"
I need all my layers so a fix is planned or should I go back to Lightroom ?
iMac mi 2011 and 2014, 20s to load a file on a imac mi 2011 with 32Go RAM ... 10s on imac 2014 ☹️ with no alpha channels but 12 layers
