Crop ratio doesn't stick

This is a known bug in a recent release. I raised a case about it and they acknowledged that. I think the intention is to return it to the previous behaviour where it remembered the ratio you last used.

There is a workaround. It turns out that it forgets built in preset ratios and reverts to unconstrained. But it doesn't forget user-defined ratios. So if you regularly use, say, the 4x3 ratio, you could define a user ratio and call it, say, 8x6. It is effectively the same thing, but C1 should remember it when the app is closed and reopened.

Thank you! That sounds good - both of it! 😊

Each time C1 is started, it reverts to unconstrained aspect ratio for the crop tool.
This might be different for others but I personally find this annoying because most of my cropping will be in the original aspect ratio.
If you don't notice this right away, you might end up with images cropped in slightly off ratios - which is not cool.

I would prefer for C1 to just keep the aspect ratio used before C1 was closed. That way it's not defaulting to a ratio that's most likely not being used anyway.

    What do you think?

You're referring to starting C1, but my preference is, I think the opposite of yours! if I crop to, say, 1x1, I DON'T want the next photo to default to that. I want it to be whatever it was before, i.e. unconstrained on an untouched photo, or the aspect ratio I used for that photo. I want to make a choice on each photo, independent of what I last did. I'm often cropping unconstrained.

Well, that's the way Lightroom works, and I'm a new C1 user. it's just extra clicks to revert, not a big deal. An option would be nice, however. Clearly, there are many people who will want a whole series of photos in the same aspect ratio.
