Here we go again
I bought this program in November and basically gave up on it as being useless to navigate.
Nothing is easy as to usefulness.
Being snowed in, I thought I would give it a try again.
WELL, I imported 2 pictures and did minimum adjustments and wanted to post one to FB Page.
Since there is no way to export it directly to the desktop or an e-mail, I dragged and dropped it onto the desktop and added it to the FB Post.
Two (2) things:
(1)
The drag and drop did not put the fully cropped version on to the desktop.
(2)
I decided to use the Aperture version to post, (No problems) and threw the CO8 desktop version away.
Went back to CO8 and the picture was highlighted in Orange and a ?Offline at the top and a Orange Pin in the top right.
What does the Orange mean and is the status of the picture ?
I tried the drag and drop again to check the crop and it would not move, it showed a rejection icon. (Round circle with a line thru it)
Frustrated again !
Hopefully the e-mail notification problem is fixed now.

Adjustments in CO8 are applied to the image during either export or processing. Drag-and-drop is not a way to do either of those.0 -

Compare Variant.
I already answered this in your other post viewtopic.php?f=52&t=183150 -

Sending an edited picture to the desktop is simple:
Go to your processing recipes tab.
Pick one of the recipes that convert to jpeg.
Change the output location to Desktop.
Process
If you wanna send the pic as an email:
Do the above:
Then in the Basic Tab change the Open With dialogue to Mail.
Process
Mail should open with the picture attached.
This is the quick and dirty.
I would suggest creating another recipe with all the setting you like, then naming it appropriately.0 -

Dude, I find C1 frustrating at times as well, but seriously, this is not one area you should be having troubles with.
First of all, the navigation in C1 is extremely straight-forward and you can pretty much customize anything to suit the way you like to work.
Second, when you're done editing, you need to export your finished photos which does a couple of things... (1) it converts them to your desired format (JPEG most likely) and (2) it applies or bakes-in all your adjustments/edits. This is why you need to explicitly export... to tell it to do these things. To do that, either setup your export settings on the Output tab (one with the gear if it's not there, right click in the tab area and add the output tool tab), OR you can right click any image and choose the "Export..." option and enter the details required about the format and destination. You can choose your desktop as your destination if you like... it's really very easy!0
