Importing images with Capture One 11.0.1

A little bit more info could be helpful. Like:
    Image type you're importing?
    Source you're importing from?
Are the images showing up in the import dialog?

    My first question:
Are both installations running the same and correct license?

It seems that you are not alone:
    viewtopic.php?f=71&t=27629#p130966

And other people observed the same 'bug' (?) with 11.0.1, on a French forum devoted to Capture One.

    Hi,

good to see I'm not alone. My computer is an iMac retina, 27", late 2014, 1 TB SSD, AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB, 32 GB of RAM running Sierra (10.12.6) so it seems it’s not caused by the OS-version.

I have installed CO1 by copying it to the applications folder and simply launching it. I agreed to update the catalog file and after a few seconds I was done. All pictures were there and everything seemed OK except for importing images.

When importing I always copy the picture folder from the sd card to the desktop and import from there.

The import window shows previews for all images in the specified folder no matter what file format they are (.jpg, .raf (Fuji, uncompressed and compressed), .arw(Sony)...).

But I have also tried to import raw files from the folder structure of referenced images that my main catalog points to into a new empty session. Even jpegs are not imported. The files are actually copied to where they belong (capture folder in case of a session or the specified folder/subfolder in case of a catalog) and with the naming (image date/time) I had set up in the import window but the file name extension (.jpg, .raf .raw...) is stripped off. And neither the session nor the catalog contain any reference to the imported picture. In case of a catalog no collection is created under „recent imports“.

I have reported all this to PhaseOne and I hope all the others have done so too.

    Regards,
    Frank

    Hans,
To answer your question - I am importing NEF's. I import from a card reader attached to a USB port on the laptop. The pictures show up in the import dialog box. When I click import on the one laptop that doesn't work, it comes up with a message of "Determining which files to import..." then the indicator spins. When the message goes away - nothing has been imported.
Frank - sorry to hear that you are also having the same problem & that it has also appeared as a problem in another forum. Hopefully Capture One will get a fix out. But if not -if anyone has done something that fixes this or is a work around then please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Mark

Your issue may have to with the fact that you "copied" Capture One application from one computer to another.
I suggest you try a true install by downloading the application (dmg) from Phase One and proceed to activate and install.
But, be sure to delete the non-functional application, along with its preference file before you try the true install.

    Hi all,

I just received a reply from the PhaseOne support team and they are telling me that I have found a bug.

When importing images I always rename them using the token "Bilddatum (jjjj-mm-tt hh-mm-ss)". I have been doing this since I started using C1 vers. 8 in 2015. This token contains dots and on C1 vers 11.0.1 these cause the above mentioned misbehaviour.

So instead of the Bilddatum-token I now use single tokens for year/month/date and hour/minutes/seconds so the file name after import is like YYYY-MM-DD_HH-mm-ss. And I am happy to report that import is back to normal.

    Frank

    Frank,
I did what you said, and can now import. Thanks for posting the solution you found.

Thank you very much for the solution. I have also used the same token. The quality control seems a bit iffy lately, to put it mildly.

    Best,
