EOS R Tethered shooting Shockingly slow

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this tethering issue with the Eos R

Setup is this -

Canon EOS R - Tether Tools USB-C to USB-C cable - MacBook Pro running Capture 12

First shot takes about 3-5 seconds to show up, consecutive shots can sometimes take up to 30 seconds with a lag - one or two will come in, nothing for 15 seconds, 3 more, nothing for 20 seconds, then one more, shooting again will cause a lag of 45 seconds, then nothing, then a photo will pop up after one minute. I can already hear the art director yelling at me that the shots are NOT coming in fast enough.

I'm comparing to a similar setup of a 5diii - tether tools cable - same MacBook Pro. this is fast and responsive shots come up instantly.

I was intending to use this setup for a shoot tomorrow, any help would be amazing!

    Further info - Tried it with the short canon usb-c cable and its exactly the same speed. very very slow.

    Also tried the EOS Utility with both cables - tethering is SUPER FAST. Images pop up instantly on the hard drive. Issue is definitely Capture 12.

    I am having the exact same problem and it is a huge issue and makes it not usable as a professional.

    I can’t give an ETA at this time, but are aware on the impact on workflow it causes.

    I found this problem too. very slow and sometimes photo can't transfer to computer
