AMD X2 4800+ vs. Intel Pentium Extreme
I'm building a new Windows machine to replace my 2 years old Pentium 4 2.80Ghz with 1.5Gb RAM.
I'm considering the AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ and the Pentium Extreme 840.
Is there a performance different between the 2 from a CaptureOne point-of-view? They are both about the same on a Photoshop CS2 filter test.
Thanks in advance for the information

In other words, is CaptureOne Pro optimize ONLY for Intel chips for dual-core machines or will AMD X2 machine will work equally well (everything else being equal)? 0 -
I'd be curious to see a response from Phase One on this. From the benches I've seen at the very top end the X2 4800 and the Pentium Extreme are very closely matched but below that the AMDs have the advantage speed wise.

When I dont have computers with the hardware configuration you are refering to I can not for sertain say which one will out preform the other but I would expect the Intel to win when we do implement Intel extensions, this normally works perfectly fine with AMD and in most cases we do not see much of a difference between Intel and AMD speed wise. 0
