Lens distortion correction issue
When using the distortion slider for images taken with my Canon 24-105 lens, pincushion seems to get worst at 100% and best at 0%. In particular, horizontal lines bow inward at 100% and are straight at 0%. The other lens distortion sliders seem to work as expected. It is as if the sale was inverted. Any explanations, other than the lens profile just being incorrect?

I have to retract my previous observation. The distortion was not a result of correcting lens distortion.
I photographed a piece of graph paper with vertical and horizontal lines. The distortion tool, least for images that are 2-3 feet from the lens, functions as it should. It looks like the pincushion effect in the uncorrected image I selected had perspective distortions, easily corrected by the keystone correction tool with the lens distortion slider set to 100%. So, in this case the uncorrected pincushion distortion in the image compensated for the keystone effect, the latter of which was responsible for what appeared to be pincushion effect. Best to use the right tool when you need to square up an image.0
