Possible to interrupt Adding Capture / Generating Preview ?

I have occasion to stop the automatic adding or previewing of folders when I start up C1 but I can't locate an option to inhibit this, or figure out a keystroke that interrupts it. Is there a way to do this?

    The tool bar button for refresh is also used for stopping refresh when application is refreshing.
