Sony A7 mk ii naming when tethered

Shooting tethered, the naming seems messed up. I have Capture set to "name" + "camera counter", which has been my method for years. With the Sony camera tethered, every time I re-start the camera, change battery, or unplug usb cord, the camera counter number is not sequenced and has even repeated and added the (-1) to file name. It does hold the correct sequence when re-starting C1 app. And yes, the file numbering is correct when shooting to card.

    I suggest to update to 8.3.2 or what is the latest version and check again. If the issue persists, contact support.

    Is your increment counter set to 256, rather than 1?

    In users/shared/Capture One is a sub folder called CaptureCore.

    Bin this (with the app quit) then try the workflow again...

    This has happened to me too, and the captureCore bin didn't help at all.

    I have always had this problem and have to sort by date, but then the ipad Capture Pilot doesn't have a similar sort option and throws me off on set with clients. 

    Has anyone figured this out? I'm disappointed to see that the last reply to this was 5 years ago.
