HEIF - Now supported by Apple; what about Capture One ?
HEIF, which is a step forward compared to JPEG (better, "smaller" pictures), is now compatible with iOS 11 and High Sierra. Any one have an idea if it will work on C1 ?

Even Adobe doesn't have a timeline for HEIC support.
I expect that PhaseOne might not prioritise this very highly - so far HEIF is only used by Apples iPhone, and Apples SW will still produce JPG equivalents of HEIF images.
I expect there will be little attention given to HEIF image processing generally until Sony or Nikon or Canon bodies start producing HEIF images.0 -
one more vote for HEIF đ

not really in a hurry to upgrade to High Sierra, but HEIF and HEVC might force my hand âšī¸0 -
I don't see much difference between HEIC and JPG photos taken on my iPhone 8. Even with iOS 11, you still have the chance to store the photos into JPG format via settings. Or you need to convert HEIC photos to JPG if you were planning to view it on Windows PC. 0 -
Anybody knows is there any update on capture one to support HEIC? I have used a free HEIC converter to convert some HEIC photos few days ago. But it's not very convenient. Hope your developer team will give a better solution. đ 0 -
You should probably asked this as a feature request. 0 -
I would suggest sending us a formal feature request via the link in my profile. 0 -

Conversion is the only choice right now if you want to view HEIC or HEIF photos.0
