Just to share my annoying opinion; I don't see the point of presets anymore. Specially buying them.

    "Oh look! A bazillion presets!"

It was kinda cool years back when I had no clue, but now that I have a rough idea; about shadows/midtones/highlights/etc, I know what I want to do with an image when I shoot 9/10.

Some strike of inspirational value at times, for the mood and technique that can be achieved, but I'd still rather look at other people's pictures to see what actually works and then use my brain to interpret.

In saying that, I am very thankful to the fella that built the ICCs for the Fuji simulations; so maybe a little set of principles/classics here and there.

    I don't know... Just my $0.02

Different strokes for different strokes, I find presets a standard part of my workflow now. And the new Color Grading presets from PhaseOne are particularly nice nice to me. I find it a great way to take a set of images and run through presets to find a starting point for "that look" , then I tweak it from there.
