Media Pro as a companion?
Hi,
as a longtime Lightroom user I first came across to the Express Version for Sony. Because C1 gave me more natural results 'out of the box' compared to LR I upgraded to the pro version.
In the last days I migrated completly to C1, although tagging images with keywords is far more fluent in LR..
Does it make sense to get Media Pro as a companion to C1?
What I have read so far is that the catalog system is more advanced in MP, but most of the reviews I have found refer to C1 version 7.
I am not sure if it makes sense to purchase Media Pro.

Personally, I say no.
Although Media Pro does behave better in cataloging than C1, the way you have to go about opening a Media Pro file in C1 is a little convoluted, in my opinion.
Its no secret that I'm not very happy with C1's catalog. However, I can say it is more fluid in that one can make adjustments and just move on to the next photo.
If you like LR's catalog, I'd just stay with that. Using LR as a catalog, using C1 Sessions as an editor, then moving the edited tiffs back into LR.
The best thing you can do, is try Media Pro and see for yourself. I keep a copy of media pro on my Mac and play with it every now and then, just as a reminder.0
