CaptureOne suddenly in "Trial Mode"?
I opened C1 this morning in my studio and was told it didn't have a valid licence key, which is odd because this is the only computer that I have C1 installed on, and I've not changed anything that I know of. I logged into the website and found I had one activation left, which I used to get back up and running for a product shoot. But I'm concerned that this will happen again, and I won't have any activations left, forcing me (I guess...) to buy another license? I am only using one copy of C1, on this one machine, and I'm not sure why I was forced to use up my remaining activation?
Additionally, when the product was re-activated all of my workspaces were lost, and (oddly) none of the Canon 5D3 standard white balances show up any more in the white balance tool. This is annoying but I guess I can live with it.
Can someone explain to me what is going on, let me know if there is any way to get my white balance settings restored, and also and let me know if I am going to eventually be forced once again to buy yet another licence?

Have you managed to somehow accidentally start it in DB mode rather than Pro?
As far as I know there are no 'tricks' to the C1 activation system that force the purchase of additional licences and, in a worst case scenario, one can always log in to one's account to deactivate all licences (in the even of lost of stolen machines for example, or crashed drives.) and then just re-activate the machines you need activated. Only the one in your case and it would seem that it is still activated anyway.
If you cannot resolve the challenge from any advice offered I would strongly suggest creating a support case so that the P1 support team can take you through the problem to a resolution.

Thanks, I don't know exactly what happened, but I did find out that Windows installed updates a couple of days ago so I suppose I have Microsoft to thank for this. I wasn't aware that I could de-activate old activations - I'll go ahead and do that if this should happen again. I appreciate your reply. 0 -
Hi,
Me too i lost activation on my 2 computer, but this happen when i did a update 7.1.4 to 7.1.5. I activate again the both, and all work fine, and did the update 7.1.6, no problem.
Why ? Only Phase One know the reason of this...0 -
I received a mail that my free trial periode will soon expire! And i have a legal C1 pro 7.x license. This mail was sent to me after having upgraded to 7.1.6
What will happen?0 -
About the cause I can only guess. Perhaps Capture One could (after an CO update) not update the license file on your system.
About the cure, I suggest the following to-do actions.
Just activate again. In case you do not have activations let, login to your Phase One account from their main website. Go to License management and deactivate the activations for your key. Next, start Capture One and activate again.0
