IPTC info

Is it possible for C4 to retain the IPTC info I've applied to my Raw files in Photo Mechanic? It appears I can add very basic caption & copyright info while importing but not the complete info I need to appear in Photoshop file info. This is a critical part of my workflow and without it, I'm forced to go back into Photo Mechanic and apply it a second time to my processed Tiffs or Jpegs. Not the end of the world I guess but an extra step.

  Unfortunatly not. Photomechanics does it in its own propetary none industry standad way.
  
  We are looking in to using ways such as XMP sidecar file etc which would be a standardized with documented workflow.

  What do you use for catalogueing? If like me you use Iview Media Pro or Expression Media there are scripts that will sync metadata between files with the same filename but different extensions ie 123.cr2 to 123.tiff, a good rescource for scripts is

  Photo Mechanic has an even simpler way to copy lost IPTC between RAW and JPEG conversions.
  
  FWIW while Camera Bits may have a so-called proprietary method of storing metadata in RAW files it is based on the TIFF-EP method most if not all RAW file formats use. That's why all other RAW converters can read and pass on the metadata, including Capture One 3.7.

  Thanks Robert. I know it's pretty simple but it's yet one more thing that requires an additional step to the process. And one more thing to forget in a hurry...
