Saturation and contrast all poor in Capture. Why?

Have you done RAW conversions before, or more specifically, are you a user of C1v3 before moving to C1v4? The reason I ask is twofold :
    * Is this specifically a v4 problem (ie: if v3 was fine)?
    * This is a very common observation from people who are used to the JPEGs which come out of the camera, which often have their contrast etc boosted, making a vanilla RAW file look flat by comparison.

    Hello,
I've been shooting RAW for years now, and it was in v3 on my last computer. BUT, I did a test and re-installed the v3 version too...and the same issue occurs where the quality of the images are not comparable to my lcd screen or old RAW files. I even opened my old hard drive and compared all my setting on my previous v3 to my v3 on my new computer, and I can't see a difference in the settings (just in the quality of the images). That is why i'm baffled by this. The only difference is my new computer doesn't have the Nikon software on its plug ins, but yet i don't see how this would influence the downloading on the new computer since I downloaded the entire v3 and v4 program/plug ins. But perhaps i'm mistaken. I even uploaded another RAW program (bible) to see its quality, abd the quality of the RAW is actually better then Capture...which means something isn't processing right in my Capture. Its washing out my images and the colours/contrast is weak.
Let me know if you there are things I should consider or try.
    thank you.

difficult to find out from the distance.
What I would suggest to check:
    - Is Colormanagement enabled in C1 V3 on the new machine? If CM is enabled and it's the same issue in V3 and V4 as you mentioned I think there is a problem with profiling of the display. Check the systems monitor profile and make sure that the right profile is set as default.
    - Did you switch from a sRGB to a Wide Gamut Display?
    - If CM is disabled in V3 on the new machine for some reason enable it. If everythings looks fine after, there is apparently no problem with display profiling in V3. So there is a problem with V4. But - if the issue in V3 and V4 on the new machine are looking the same - that would indicate V4 having a problem with display profiling.
    Just ideas...
    Beste Regards.
