Importing a sesion into a catalog
I have started using a session while I am travelling. When I get home, I want to import the session into my C1 catalog and start working on the files from the catalog. After the import, are the cosessiondb and Capture One folders redundant, or are they still maintained, and/or necessary?

It depends on what you want to do and whether you have loaded the images as "Managed" or "Referenced" files.
The session and catalogue are, in this case, independent entities that share the same sources files (see above).
Both options exist and have a potential life after a session has been imported (complete with its edits to date) into a catalogue database,
However there is no automated synchronisation of edits in either direction between a session and a catalogue and I think, given that potential for the ways that sessions can be used, that makes a lot of sense.

If you are primarily a catalog user, you might simply want to do an "import images" (point to top level session folder and "include subfolders) into your catalog structure while making sure to copy the files into your home machine file system (i.e. make sure destination is not "current location" or no image files will be moved!) select "include existing adjustments " under the adjustment tabs. All your work should be preserved and everything moved into your home file structure.
Confirm files copied and adjustments retained and then you can delete you whole session folder and continue work on home setup.0 -
That's exactly what I needed. Many thanks to you both. 0 -

Hi
I have a slightly different question regarding sessions and catalogs. I work on a laptop on a trip, using a session, and when I get home I import that session into my catalog on my desktop computer, with any adjustments I've made on the laptop. That works really well for me.
But recently I ended up making adjustments on the laptop after having done the import (I ended up unexpectedly travelling for a week or so). So now I have an updated session on the laptop, and I'm looking for the easiest way to copy the adjustments from the session on the laptop to the catalog on the desktop computer. I've tried copying the 'CaptureOne/Settings110' folder from the laptop to the desktop but that didn't work, even after re-reading metadata and re-creating previews.
Is there an efficient way to copy those adjustments?
Any help greatly appreciated!
