rename physical folders??
I am testing C!v7 and really like it. Of course I am testing the catalog system also.
One of the problems I am having is this: once you import images the physical folder tree shows where they are but I you cannot change that folder name. When you select the folder the "rename" under file is not active.
Often you need to rename these folders for at the time of import you don't always know what the best name should be.
You should be able to rename any physical folder in the tree regardless if it has imported files in it or not.
For example:
I import all raw images into a subfolder with the parent folder listed as the shoot date.
12-01-2013

If you change the name outside of C! it can not find the files so it gives them an offline status and ? question mark.
It does let you go back in and search for a image file but as far as I can see this is for each and every file individually.
Really slow and tedious even for a couple of hundred files. What happens when an external drive is relabled or files are moved to another computer that is already using an assigned drive letter.
There should be a way to tell C!v7 where to find all its files by pointing to any main folder and have it search it and all subfolders.
With out this the legacy is very fragile.

You can relocate the folder in one stroke. Right-click on the folder in Library tool. Renaming the folder would be a very nice feature to have, indeed.0
