Copy adjustments does not always copy all adjustments
Apple + C copies the adjustments of a file, and Apple + V transmits them on a different file.
But I have noticed that sometimes that doesn't work.
If the image whose adjustments you want to copy has the "as shot" adjustment to white balance, and you go to an image with the white balance settings changed....
... and perform Apple + V, the settings for white balance are not transmitted, and the target image retains the setting.
Looks like the "as shot" white balance setting is not being copied to the clip board.

As shot ≠Adjustment.
As no adjustment is applied to an images white balance, there is no adjustment to CMND+C to the Clipboard.
Only deviations from default values are copied to the Clipboard automatically. If you would like one value to overwrite another, but that value has not deviated from the original, then you must deliberately select that adjustment on the Adjustments Clipboard (either global or local).0 -

Thanks Drew, I did not know that I could apply 'no adjustment' to an adjusted image by deliberately selecting the adjustment on the clipboard. Nice.0 -
Thanks, Drew.
But it would mean an extra three steps 1. opening up adjustments panel 2. select and click adjustment 3. Go back to image adjustment tool panel.
It would be great that the term "no adjustment" would be dropped.
It's not important if an adjustment I want to transmit to another picture is the "as shot" adjustment or an adjustment I did.
example with two images:
image one: gets many adjustments, including white balance.
image two: a different set of adjustments, but the white balance is "as shot"
I want to copy the "look" of image 2 to image 1: That's a complex process as I have to open the adjustment panel, click "white balance", and go back to image adjustments, and the do the Apple + C
If CO would accept "as shot" as an adjustment, I'd only have to do Apple + C. An easier and better workflow. And nothing is lost by ranking "as shot" as an adjustment.
PS: An additional complication is that you often don't know in a set of images, that an image's white balance is "as shot".
You only see it after Apple + C didn't get you the look you wanted as white balance didn't change.0 -
A good suggestion but accommodating this workflow would destroy the successful workflow of others that's been in place for years.
When you Copy Adjustments you're doing just that, copying ONLY the adjustments. An adjustment is anything that has deviated from default. Copying ALL fields regardless of adjustment or default is possible through the workflow referenced in the first reply and I am afraid that is all that can be provided at present.0 -
i am tethering into capture one using a canon 7d (I don't know if that matters), and i am shooting one picture, making white balance, high dynamic range, level adjustments, and then selecting the option "Copy from Last" for 'next capture adjustments'. I then shoot 17 more pictures of a shoe spinning. All adjustments are copying over correctly except for the White Balance which it seems to be changing arbitrarily (for one image it will be at 5449 with a tint of -5 and then the next one 5450 with a tint of 0). I can not figure out why it is not copying the exact numbers that I assign for this one adjustment. The adjustment "white Balance" is checked in my adjustments clipboard. I can not even copy and paste this one adjustment.
if anyone has had similar problems please let me know. This is pretty frustrating.
thank you

The issue is apparently that Capture One can not copy the White Balance adjustment, either manually or by using the Next Capture Adjustments tool during tethering.
I suggest you create a support case as I suspect it is fairly difficult to troubleshoot through a forum.

Actually this copy adjustments thing has one important item missing: a menu where you can choose which adjustments you want copied. I normally do not want crop or straighten copied but may want a number of other items copied. 0 -

Adjustments clipboard?
Yes, but I find that cumbersome. There are quite a number of actions you have to take, what I am thinking of is much simpler and something you do not have to save as a style or anything. You copy all adjustments as usual, and those are automatically put in a list. The moment you say paste, that list pops up and you can then tick off any you do not want to apply at that moment. This would be something automatic without any need for the user to make a list.

Copy/paste tool does most of what you just said... (the combined double arrow icon from the customise toolbar)... 0 -
Thank you Paul,
I contacted Capture One support via the link you sent, and hopefully I will hear from them soon. Any idea how long that takes?

A day perhaps, sometimes within a few hours.0
