v5????
I just got an email from 1ProPhoto that indicates v5 is coming in September??
This is the first I've heard of it. You guys can't even get all the bugs fixed in v4 and
now v5 is coming??

Well, they are up to version 4.8.1, so pretty soon they will have to bring out v5 😕 0 -
A Version 5 would indicate a major revision and PO will likely want money for Ver. 4.x.x users to upgrade.
Considering the obtuse UI, I'll be unlikely to ante up. My hunch is that my Leica DNG file conversions will be as well handled by other S/W as time passes and the other vendors refine their algorithms.
But, if Ver. 5 were to offer a more intuitive UI, I'll be all eyes! 😊0 -

Roger,
it would pay to do a bit of research before running off at the mouth. If you did you would find that Phase One's upgrade policy gives purchasers 2 full version upgrades free.
If you are have used the software more than once or twice you will see the logic of it. It is no more "unintuitive" than any other software package, just different. If you go for the Pro version you can build your own interface. What other software allows you to do this?
What I find most amazing about this post is someone who can afford a Leica M8 complaining about ponying up a couple hundred dollars!

this is C1/Win section, not C1/Mac - customization is crippled for C1/Win... as for a Windows version - DxO has comparable level of UI building to suit your workflow.0 -

I am perfectly aware of which forum I am in.
Customization is crippled for Capture One, but not Capture One Pro. This applies to both Windows and Mac. Toolbar customization is something else altogether.
You can drag any interface item from it's original Tab and place it in the Adjustments Tab to place all the Adjustments you regularly use in the one place.0 -
Deleted, not worth it. 0 -

I am talking about CaptureOne Pro v4.8 on Windows platform and about toolbar exactly which is not "something else altogether" but a major part of UI.[quote="Terry91" wrote:

of course and you can do the same thing in DxO as well... but I wish to be able to get toolbar customizable in C1.0 -

This is all so redundant if you do a basic bit of research and learn your keyboard shortcuts. It will speed up your work and increase your screen real estate.
This is really important if you have to deal with a lot of files.

To clarify, the reason toolbar customization is supported in mac and not PC is that it is a function of the Mac OS, rather than something we specifically developed, such as tool palette customization. 0 -
They still haven't even brought over features from 3.x and yet they are releasing a new version? What new features is P1 going to add? How about adding the features that made 3.x a great workflow such as keyboard shortcuts to adjust color/exposure (this was promised to me in 4.8 from the P1 support team) and quickproofs?
I have put off using v4 because of these missing features but unfortunately have had to use 4.8 because one of my interns has a camera 3.8 won't recognize. The workflow is brutal. Having to mouse all of the place to made adjustments is stupid when you are processing 1,000 photos a day. The "new and improved" workflow has doubled the time I spend adjusting images.0 -
No official or formal announcement has been done yet (AFAIK). Are you sure you want to respond to rumors on the Net? 0 -

Plus 1, and my junior makes 2
