download/shooting speed

I'm looking to upgrade my G4 laptop. Can anyone tell me what kind of shooting speed their getting shooting tethered with firewire 1ds 2. What I'm looking for is how many seconds from shutter release to preview coming up in C1 Pro. Which Macbook or Macbook Pro are you using?
