Accidentally erased folder
Just done 40 captures neatly placed in a new folder on the desktop. Unfortunately the folder was erased. I don´t know how, but I was moving it back and forth into another folder, so I suspect that has something tom do with it. All I have left are some captures in the trash folder. I have tried to find it through "Spotlight", but no success. Can the lost pictures be hidden somewhere mysterious inside the mac, or are they lost for eternity? Any suggestions welcomed greatly.

I'm affraid that your files are gone! The thing I would still try is to locate them using the "find" command in the Terminal. But it's a last ditch effort and I wouldn't bet a nickel on it. 0 -
Mac can/will 'hide' files when there are problems.
Somone wiser than I could explain these circumstances, but they can be recovered nonetheless.
Some customers have used a program named Cocktail to make invisible files appear in Finder.
