Workflow question - Personal work
Hi! I want to combine Capture One and Lightroom. Basically I am using pretty much them same flow as described here:
My question is what do you do when the images does not need further retouching outside of Capture One? Some of my family pictures does not need retocuhing and I just want them on my drive. I still like to shoot RAW though. For those shots it seems overkill to export to TIFF. Those files are pretty big. I am thinking of exporting to 100% jpeg instead, and them have Lightrrom import them. But what about the original RAW files for those shots? Should I throw them away? Remember were talking your personal family shots here. Not client work where I would of course keep everything.
Please comment and share your own workflow for personal stuff and professional work. Also comment on what DAM software you use. I really like Lightroom for this but I am always open for suggestions.

I find it easiest not to consider different workflows for the purpose of my images or minor differences only. Family pictures are a good example (if you are doing professional work as well). And I make the same choices you do: work in raw and output to JPEG/sRGB instead of the regular TIFF/AdobeRGB choice. 0 -
Thankyou. What about keeping Raw files after you are done with them? For personal work that is. 0 -

I always keep my raw files afterwards, though I select the best only and delete the others.0 -
Dump them to a DVD or CDR (or two.) Very cheap even for potential trash. Of course they may deteriorate, but if not a must have archive, then it is a less severe step then deleted fully. 0 -

I copy the remaining raw files to DVD indeed. I make 2 copies, one stored on-site and one off-site.0
