Filter Tool lost filters

I removed my Filter Tool from one tab then tried to add it to another. Now when I add the filter tool there are no filters underneath it. I am new so I either did something wrong or this is a defect. Any known solution for damaged filter tool?

    If you click on the ... on the Filter tool, one of the things that comes up is a menu item saying Show/Hide Filters. You can use that to select what filters you would like to be available. Perhaps they somehow all got deselected.
