Your G5 laptop must have caused that. 😁 (sorry for making fun out of your misery, but G5 and laptop sounds like a contradiction to me)
I think it is best to try a disk recovery software package.

I thought the G5 laptop could have been the problem also. But this never happened on our older G4 laptops running 10.4.11 system or our G5 towers using the same system.
So I tethered the p25 to the new imac running 4.5.2 shooting product for a day or so and the same thing happened (Crash and corrupt files)

What I intended to say is that I think (or I must be terribly wrong, which happens in very few occasions) that G5 laptops have never existed. I assume, that you refer to a max. 2 year old Intel proc. based MacBook Pro??
In that case and with your new iMac, you have an issue, because CO 4.5.2 should run on the newer Intel Macs and not corrupt files during tethering.

The imac was purchased in February 08 (2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 3 Gigs of RAM) and the laptop in April 08 (2.5Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 Gigs of RAM)
