Canon 650D Raw support?
When can we expect Raw support for the Canon 650D?

Andreas,
As this camera was only recently released (July), it will take some time to implement support for it. This timeline will also depend on the demand for the camera as right now there is only one Request for this camera to support.0 -
Here is a second request! I am eagerly awaiting the software to support my 650D. And I expect it to become a popular camera! 0 -
Here is a third request! Lightroom 4.1 and DXO 7.5.3 already support Canon 650D RAW format. Why not Capture One? I hope and wish the Canon EOS 650D owners that it happens quickly!
Best regards,

Capture One/Phase One builds support for each camera individually. We get the camera in house, analyze it and build custom support. As the camera is quite new, we do not yet have one in house and thus have not built support for it. đ0 -
I also just realised that Capture One cannot open the raw files of my new EOS 650d. Looking forward to an update that will support the 650d soon.
Thanks and kind regards.0 -
Another request for 650D support 0 -
Has there been any releases for 650d support yet? Its October 20th now. đ Just downloaded the demo and by the speed there going with supporting the camera my 60 days will run out. 0 -
What happens if you convert Canon 650D raw files to DNG with AdobeDNGConverter v7.2. Are these DNGs also not supported from C1? 0 -
Something a little odd ...
Wondering what possible options there might be to get around this problem (being a little familiar with ways to do things in an old now defunct package) I downloaded a 650D sample RAW file and tried a few things.
One well known, free for personal use, converter/editor seemed to be quite happy to open the file although I suspect it initially just presents the embedded jpg. However it was happy to let me play around, double the file dimensions, make edits and save a large TIFF version some 10 times bigger in file size than the RAW original - which is about right.
Now, this is not the latest verison of the program - in fact it's several years old. (I have just downloaded but not yet tried the latest version but it has a 2011 date so unlikley to be adjhusted for 2012 released cameras.) So I was surprised that it worked. From a quick assessment the output looks OK but that is not a definitive observation on a notebook screen!
The real puzzle though is that noa I have performed that activity and have the TIFF file the program shows the thumbnail for both versions of the image as a fully coloured file but the Preview size display of the RAW file has the magenta tint (so widely reported for applications that read the files but don't actually support them) and so does any attempt to open and edit it. I'm struggling to come up with a rational explanation for this.
Other things to do today so my experiments will have to wait. If anyone has any ideas about why this can happen I'm interested to hear them. I may well have missed something simple.

I can't believe how slow Phase One is in supporting this camera. You should not have to be asked by users to deliver support. It is a popular camera world wide and three months after release still no support! I am currently using a 550D and 650D and I am still having to convert to DNG before I can work with the RAW file. 0 -

Thank you. 0 -
Just noticed support for 650D is only on Version 7 Pro not Express. Not useful to me.
When will 650D be supported on Capture One Express?0 -
Not sure how many requests have been filed for Capture One Express support for the 650d but here's another one please. 0 -
The Canon 650D is supported in Capture One 7 PRO.
We will look into retroactive support for other users in due time, currently our focus is on Capture One 7. I apologize for the inconvenience.0 -

Hi Drew,
Either I am doing something wrong, or there is no support in 7 for the 650D as suggested.
I have downloaded and installed and it runs fine, sees my other camera files, but I just get a blank window for folders containing my 650D raws âšī¸

Has anyone else in this thread managed to get v7 to read 650D raw files? 0 -
Just for the record, and for reference:
viewtopic.php?p=60710#p60710
an issue has been acknowledge regarding the preliminary support with the 650D. It boils down to different versions of the 650D due different branding by Canon for respective regions in the world. Not all version are yet recognized. Will be fixed in an updated CO7 release.0
