local exposure adjustments
I recently started doing post production work for a client who uses a P45 on a Cambo Wide DS. Hence I am forced to use CaptureOne to perform the necessary lens cast correction, which cannot be done in any other raw editor with this TIF raw files. I like the Capture One workflow a lot, but the one thing I'm truly missing is local, gradual exposure corrections, just like Lightroom offers. These are invaluable tools in architecture photography.
Things would be fine if I could just perform the LCC and then export to a proper DNG with the cast corrected, so I could further develop the DNG in Lightroom or Camera Raw. But apparently the dng-export saves no adjustments (DXO can do this), and if I export to a regular TIFF I loose the raw dynamic range.
When can we expect this feature, all the others (apart from Hasselblad's Phocus) offer this, Bibble, DXO.

Sorry, which feature exactly? The ability to export Adjusted RAW to a separate RAW (adjustments included) or the ability to use "local, gradual exposure corrections"?0 -
Both features would be great, but the local adjustments within CaptureOne would of course be the best solution, since it's the best raw convertor for the Phase One files. Available in the next upgrade? When? 0 -
Does the currently available keyboard shortcut not work for the Exposure Adjustment you are currently looking for?
(CTRL CMND + and CTRL CMND -)0 -
You could always export multiple 16bit tiffs and mask at the LOCAL adjustments in Shop. Pretty old school I know...... 0 -
Drew, think they are after the ability to selectively alter exposure/adjustments on part of the image before export, something I think LR does and would be nice to have in C1 😄 0 -
Gotcha. Noted. 0 -
Drew, indeed, this is a very handy feature in lightroom, you can draw a gradient over a part of the image, for example an overexposed sky or a window in an interior, and then change exposure, contrast , brightness, saturation, … You can even alter the colour of the gradient , so you can compensate for different colour temparatures, for example neutralize blueish daylight falling in when one uses incandescent lighting.
Apart from the gradients (multiple can be applied on the same image) you can also paint these effects in locally with a brush. (nice for lighting up eyes and teeth)
This is a big timesaver since all this work doesn't have to done in PS no more. Hope to see this in CaptureOne because now you have to make several variations, export them to tiffs, and then overlay them in PS.

Steven,
Right. Now I got it, sorry for the confusion.
If you could log a support case and make the Feature Request formally we will be sure to put it in the right hands.0 -

that will be a major codework for P1 which even if implemented we will not see until C1 v6 or rather v7... rather quick alternative (albeit still time consuming for users and you still need to have photoshop) will be if C1 can export to .PSD w/ several layers inside .PSD bracketed (user defined) by exposure for example, instead of users manually exporting several .TIFs and assembling them manually into layers in photoshop... then you just finish the work in photoshop using its tools to work with layers... or like DxO to be able to export to linear .DNG so that users can finish the work in other tools like LR/ACR or LightZone (not sure if Lightzone supports linear .DNGs though - but it is very good w/ local adjustments and Lightcrafts implemented it way before Adobe or Bibble).0 -
You can use color editor to correct color temp differences. 0 -
Yes, it will indeed be a lot of work to program that. An export to a linear DNG with the LCC corrections would be just fine for me, so I can finish the image in Lightroom. 0 -
I too want this and have formally put in a feature request, this would save me sooo much time! 0 -
You can process a dng out of V5. I've never had the need or want to, but I'm pretty sure that the LCC settings will carry over. I've never bothered to because I find I can get much nicer results out of V5 than the ACR engine, especially with with phase files. 0 -
