Standard Colours
Hi all,
I am looking to manage my colours. I am shooting in different lighting conditions, which produces very different colour spectrums, saturation levels, contrast, white balance and all across files.
While I know I can manage individual colours manually and picture by picture, is there a type of colour preset I can save and apply across a range of files that will determine an absolute colour spectrum for these files as opposed to mere relative adjustments? What is the best I can do in Capture One to facilitate my workflow standardising my pictures?
Many thanks,
Wolfgang

Use a gray card or macbeth chart would be my easy answer. Then choose the light type in the white balance window and set your balance from the chart.
Am I missing some deeper question? This sounds to logical for your question.0 -

Hi Dave,
thank you. I shoot mostly reportage and do not create the scene. So the card is usually not an option and i am happy to correct white balance later.
My issue is that even if I correct for white balance etc. Shots from different locations do not sit as well together as I think they could. Some are softer, some are harder, some have direct sunlight flaring all over the lens and some are shot on a cloudy day in the snow with really no shadows or significant colour. Editing those 1 by 1 is time consuming and some form of colour standardisation would be great. This is about hanging the sunny, saturated beach next to the cloudy, soggy forest and have them look good side by side without approximating each file separately from scratch.
To be honest i am not sure if there is something out there. But I do mostly film and this would be a great attraction to digital.
Thank you!0
