how to rename a catalog
I wish to rename the catalog containing all my image (1887 images). I could not see how to do that in a straight forward way, so I tried to export the entire contents to a new catalog.
At first I tried exporting from my top User Collection (group), but I could see that I was not capturing all the images as counted in Catalog Collections: "All Images". So I tried to export from All Images, and got four error messages, all the same: "Proxy Creation Failed"
What does P C F mean? How can I tell which images they pertain to?
Perhaps, or certainly worse, is that my tactic two failed to contain any of my custom User Collections. So all 1887 images are in a single user collection, none of my former categorizations.
Anyone know an easy way to rename a catalog without losing any information??
(By the way, "Verify" works on the original catalog w/o errors.
Thanks 😊

Additional piece of info:
I closed C1 and then opened my original catalog. C1 opened the catalog with the highlight (cursor) on the last used collection, which was: All Images.
So there is some problem with the original catalog, and not the transfer process.
Collection "All Images" has 1887 images, but the listing: "Folders:In Catalog" only shows 1884. There are 6 error messages in the log, all of which are "Proxy Creation Failed"
If any of the above helps.....0 -

Just rename the catalog file from, say, <oldname>.cocatalogdb to <newname>.cocatalog.db in File Explorer (or whatever Windows calls it these days) then double click it to open it.
