It's hopeless - after half a year Drew says: Be patient!
May 6, 2011 I wrote this to Customer Support:
From C1 PRO!! 6.1 to 6.2 the Lens information has disappeared from the generated tif-files.
One ARW and two tif-files are attached:
The first tif #2965 is generated with 6.1 the second (2965 1) with 6.2 (even with Process Recipe Advanced the Lens information is not included).
It seems to be a little give and take each time a new version is released. I have just been waiting a few months for the f and focal length information to be available with arw and nef files. Now a new error is introduced.
...long time passed with more or less arrogant or evasive answers..
July 7, 2011 I asked (for the 5th time at least) how the solving of this problem was progressing (in the meantime 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 had passed without a solution):
A new lame answer:
Eigil,
I cannot say. The concern has been reported to R&D as per your concern (thank you) and we will look into it further when time allows. Currently there is no ETA.
Kind Regards,
Drew

To day is the 28th of August 2011 - and I still have to work around the derived problems from this error. I am sure the problem could be solved without using much time and effort, but the impression grows that as a simple full frame user, my problems with C1 PRO!! are put in the “can wait until the IQ180 guys are happy†box.
Seems that the 2011 Phase One don't gives a damn about its roots.

Thom22,
Good initiative if you are stuck with the problem. I am not. My work-flow includes a slightly easier work-around.
My point here is – as Alain also states – that PhaseOne is not delivering the functionality they promise their customers (ALL their customers!), at least not in due time, and especially not if those customers work with one of the markets best DSLR cameras from Sony.
Apparently this is due to a political decision with PhaseOne!
As far as I can tell from Sony’s answer earlier in this thread they are actually inviting to a working relationship. So what is the problem if you are PhaseOne and you want to serve all your customers equally?
The answer could be that this is not the primary concern with PhaseOne. It seems that Nikon and Canon as brands are favoured by PhaseOne, and at the same time Sony is suppressed.
Think about it. People could easy reach the conclusion, that you avoid troubles if you stay with Canon and Nikon. But this is a wrong conclusion, unless you are prepared to waste money.
I urge all Sony users to link from this thread to their problems with PhaseOne. Don’t hide. You will be ignored, if you stay silent.0 -

Why does it take the Phase one people more than a year when you do it in about an hour?
Why should it be Phase One's responsibility to identify a solution?
It's not as if Cap One isn't working, it's just that one user has a specific use-case which it doesn't currently address and for which there are readily-available solutions.
I'll say it again - people need to take personal responsibility for their decisions and problems, instead of always blaming someone else and expecting "the other guy" to sort things out.0 -
Hi Keith,
Thank you for updating your point of view.
Somewhere on the Internet I read this: .converters – including Capture One and Bibble 5, both of which converters I have been very enthusiastic about in the past.
It is written by you the 8th of January 2011.
The 9th of July 2011 in the thread “plugins in C1†you were asked: So, Keith, why are you here? Presumably, you are no longer using Capture One, so why hang around the forum?
I ask you the same question. If you are not a user of C1, why use your own and others energy on defending PhaseOne against your own party of interests, the independent users of C1?
I would act the same way, if I were paid for it, but I am not.
On the contrary, I have happily paid full price for C1 while I still had the impression that the system would work as claimed – and without exceptions for certain brands of excellent cameras.0 -
Still no help from PO with this issue.
The latest C1 ver 6.3.2 also calls my lens: "24.0 mm f/2.8"
- while Adobe Raw Converter STILL has no problems with finding: "24-70mm F2.8 ZA SSM"
It seems to be a small thing, but no plug-in for Photoshop understands the C1's Vendor Lens format when extracted from Sony A900 raw files.
Is serious development of C1 still going on? I see very few radical improvements that needed to get in the way of the solution of this "small" problem.
Maybe next year?0
