Histogram Compression of highlights
Problem:
No matter how overexposed the images are shot during a recent session the highlight exposure warning was not showing blown highlights. it was set to 248.
upon inspection of the histogram, i noticed the histogram stopped dead at 235. all highlight information was compressed down to 235 and below preventing C1 from showing blown highlights. Please advise
Questions:
did i change a setting somehow? If so, where?
how can i reset things in that session only to prevent C1 from compressing the highlight information?
All other sessions are fine.
Thanks,
Jarrod.

Jarrod, check whether you have (unintentionally) set the output levels. Go to the Exposure tool tab, Levels tool. The output levels are the values on top of the histogram. Default values are 0 and 255. If you lower the highlight level from 255 to 230 (for example) output will clip to that value and the exposures indicator will never be triggered (unless you bring it in line with the output level). 0
