Copying adjustments to multiple images
I know there is a whole thread on batch processing, but this issue seems a little different. It used to be that I could select a set of images (Pro version tho). I'd then select all the images that the particular adjustment applied to. Typical need for white balancing a group of images shot in the same light. It was trivial to apply the adjustments to a selected set of images.
With this new version 4, it seems to be impossible. I was told to hold the shift key down and then click on one of the selected images. That just applied the adjustment to the image I clicked on and to no others withing the set.
Its the processing efficiency which attracted me to this product in the first place. It seems that the designers of this version have managed to kill off just about ALL of the processing efficiencies. This is very very BAD!!! javascript:emoticon('')
Evil or Very Mad
Are we going to have to wait for the PRO version to get these features back? I understand that this version is actually an LE version. Did the LE version have the batch processing capabilities?
I really like the HDR adjustments!!! It is the one tool that really makes me want to work with this. And I like the way the images are filed and controlled better too; particularly the preview and adjustment control files.javascript:emoticon(':?')
Confused

Copying adjustments is still there. It works in a Copy-Paste fashion. You can do this in several ways. One is through the Adjustments menu where you will find both the Copy and Apply Adjustments options. Another is with the 2 buttons on the toolbar at the right (hover your mouse to see the tooltips) and the third way is the buttons on the Adjustments Tool tab.
Note that this way by default ALL adjustments from one image are applied to the selected image(s). For a more granular control, go to the Adjustments Tool tab, and check/uncheck what you want to copy.
Note: first hit the Copy button or menu option once before you the list of settings on the Adjustments Tool tab will show up.0 -

Generally...you select multiple images and then hold down SHIFT while clicking not the originally selected image itself but rather the control that makes the adjustment. That's one way. There are also some keyboard shortcuts that can be used for this purpose. Using adjustments "clipboard" is another approach.
What specific adjustments are you trying to apply to multiple images?0 -
Yes, that worked.... I did not even need the shift key.
I was trying to apply a white balance adjustment to a selected set of images. Looking at the adjustments clipboard panel, at the bottom are "buttons" for COPY and ADJUST. I clicked on the ADJUST button to apply the copied white balance adjustment to my 3 image selection. Worked exactly.
Like always, the Phase One folk really don't make it very intuitive. Once you know how to use a tool, its fine. But the use of the tools is not always very obvious.
So... How would one DELETE a selected set of images.... I just tried clicking on the trashcan symbol after selecting multiple images and it only deleted the primary image of the selected set....
OK... The shift key worked on this one. I held the shift key down as I clicked on the trashcan button. It even warned me that it was no reversible.

They could be made more obvious for sure.

I never delete image files via a raw converter, though I might remove them from a "collection" or "album". C1v4 doesn't provide the option to move the image files to the Trash from which you could recover them if need be -- it removes them permanently?0 -

It doesn't remove them permanently, it puts them in the recycle bin which you can recover them from if you wish.0 -

The advantage of removing images from CO4 (and previous versions of CO) compared to Windows Explorer is that CO4 also removes the sidecar files which contain the settings, thumbnail and preview (in CO4's case the .cos and .cop files).
I did a delete of 1 image from CO4, found 3 files in the Recycle Bin, restored them from the Bin. CO4 did not show the image with corrections immediately again. I had to refresh the Browser (by selecting a different folder and come back to the previous). Then all was restored. A refresh button would be a nice feature.0 -

That's a good idea. I had a similar problem that a refresh button would have solved. You should log that as a feature request through their support site.0 -

Added to my wish-list which will be transfered as feature request. Thanks.0 -

I don't have that problem Paul.
If I delete an image, then restore it and the 2 settings file from the recycle bin, then C1 'sees' the old settings immediately. No need for a refresh.0 -

Might be OS-dependant. On XP SP2 I saw what Paul was seeing.0 -

I did indeed use XP SP2, I forgot to mention. Will try on Vista later. Thank you both. [this quote-in-quote is really neat <g>]0 -
For the record, I use 32-bit Vista Ultimate SP1 (RC).
