promo codes expired
I'm migrating from LR to C1 and currently using the trial version. I still have a few days left, after which I was planning to buy a perpetual license (not interested in subscription, this was one of the reasons I moved away from LR).
I had found and saved the promo codes from Alex on RAW and Image Alchemist to use, only to realize today that they were good through the end of 2018.
So, now I am wondering whether it's worth sticking with LR a little longer while waiting for the next promotion. My question to the forum is, based on historical data, how often do such campaigns occur?

IMHO, you won't have any information about that within this forum. It's all up to Phase One to do it, if they want to do it. Moreover, commercial posts are out of the scope of the forum. 0 -
If the only (or main) reason you're thinking of leaving LR is its revenue model, then maybe reconsider—especially if you're already proficient with LR.
But if there are other reasons, then bite the bullet and buy a C1 license. With the fairly steep upgrade price increases over the last couple of years, it looks like Phase One wants or needs more revenue from C1.
For me, between what I can do with customizing the UI, ease of editing, and quality of results, C1 was an easy decision over LR when I evaluated the 2 programs, and every time I sit down with an LR user I'm still happy I chose C1. Having perpetual licenses (for 3 machines, which I use) is a big bonus for me. (I also like David Grover's webinars)0 -
I believe from recent discussions on here that Phase One no longer intends to offer promo codes. 0 -

I can only concur. I switched to C1 more than a year ago, because I was fed-up with LR (and mostly the revenue model.) Sincee then I haven't looked back. C1 is so much faster, easier to use (once you get the gang of it), and the results I get with C1 are excellent (and way better than what I got from LR.) Couldn't be any happier...0 -
Since I mentioned it, the end of perpetual licensing was the final drop that pushed me away from Adobe. Oh, and the fact that they forked LR and shifted the Lightroom brand to the polished all-platform mass-market stripped-down version, while renaming the advanced version "Classic".
After trying C1 for a month, I know this will be my new tool. Speed, picture quality and customization are the top reasons.
Well, 10% might not even be worth talking about for a photography tool that's going to be the basis of a workflow. I was just bummed to miss it for a couple of days 😄0 -
I used the 10% promocode of the Leica user forum: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/29 ... in-system/
Probably this helps you, too.
All the best

It was probably before January 1st. I am not sure it still works.
Cheers,
