I am on 10.7.2 and C1 6.3.2 on two systems, an I7 MBP and a quad core Mac Pro in the studio. Using P1 P65+ and IQ180 backs and Canon 1ds mk3, 5d mk2 DSLR setups.

No major issues to report I did implement on the studio system first as I always have the MBP on hand in case things went sideways. The IQ back is particularly well behaved.

What are your worries? The title of this thread is giving food to uncertainty that is not backed by reports. Lack of replies may indicate the OS X Lion works quite well for the majority of its users.

I am always very cautious regarding switching OS X versions, don't get me wrong. I do a lot of testing in advance. And yes, I am on Lion since last Christmas (approx.). All fine so far.

Testing is quite simple. I created a Lion volume on an external disk and installed my applications. I also look for reports from manufacturers regarding Lion compatibility. I documented this process in this thread:

    Hey Paul

Thanks for writing back. I was just curious because I think there is a little bit of uncertainty out there- whether deserved or not i'm not sure! For example, most of the big studios in NYC and LA are NOT running Lion on any of their machines out of concern for compatibility issues with software. It sounds as though C1 has been pretty sorted out though from everything I have been hearing which is great news!

If I'm not mistaken though, the current generation of MacPro's apple is selling can be rolled back to Snow Leopard if one wanted to right? I know there are rumors of an update coming out for the MacPro's but unfortunately I don't think I can wait a month or two

    thanks for your advice

I think Phase One has their focus on Lion regarding to Capture One so that one is a pretty sure bet. About the big studios you refer to: larger organizations have a tendency to be more conservative and restrictive regarding software upgrades because they have more hardware and software that is potentially impacted. But their hesitation can also come from initial testing with the first release (10.7.0) and stepped back after a few issues (as they should). Issues might have been solved, but the hesitation may take longer to vaporize. Just a guess.

This could be very well correct, that due to their Snow Leopard era origin, a MacPro bought new today could still run that OS. Once there is an updated model, you're bound to Lion.

I suggest you provide more details regarding the issue (does it not process at all?) before you anyone can help. Maybe you'd better open a new thread for your issue to get proper focus and leave this thread for discussing the use of Lion in general.
