Session or catalog?
It works fine in a session for me.0 -
I am using Catalog - 0 -
Because of my workflow with other software, and because I cannot import a large # photos into a catalog, I am sticking with sessions. I have also found that changes to photos within a catalog don't track with changes made when using a session. I guess you should use one or the other.
If I get a chance later, I'll look at a mini catalog I created.0 -
That makes sense since MP would be a catalog and tags are imported but C1v6 would be session and so tags are not imported. I find this to be an omission of function since even in MP you can get it to import the Annotations from a C1v6 session.
I hope we are wrong about this since MP is unusably slow , adobe has pissed me off enough that I cannot use lightroom, so currently I am without a viable workflow friendly cataloging option. Unless I want to re-catalog over 750,000,000 photos
thank you for letting me complain.
can anyone else verify that tagging info cannot be tracked between sessions and catalogs? is this a "feature" by design?
I am in the process of importing a HUGE drive so cannot test but can anyone confirm if ratings transfer from C1v6 or between sessions and catalogs?
one more thought - I would imagine that "sessions" are eventually going to be replaced by "catalogs"0 -

It's not just tags that bother me. It is the photo edits. Change the tone in a catalog, and the same file when viewed in a session remains the same.
If they remove the sessions, then they better fix the catalog function.
Good luck in importing a large number of photos. I have been unable to do it.0 -
You can import images in a catalog, from a session for example and import it with adjustments. Edit or adjustments you do to the image in the catalog are not propagated to the images in the session. This was not in the design intention of the catalog as it is today.
There is no back-and-forth process regarding adjustments between session and catalogs, at least not in its current state.0 -
I cannot seem to find the setting to view all images in subfolders with sessions or catalogs what am I doing wrong?
I have d:\2012\092412
I have d:\2012\101212
I have d:\2012\102512
I want to click on D:\2012 and see all the images from all three subfolders
also the search criteria doesn't seem to include "path" or I would just make a smart album/catalog0 -
If you imported your image in a catalog, with the option "Current Location" during import, the image folders are visible in the Folders section in the Library tool. Start clicking on your HDD and browse. You can see limited or all path info with the option Show/Hide Info in the Library tool (right-click on an item like a folder or your HDD). 0 -
I'm using a catalog and would like to know whether C1 can show me all photos in a specified folder including its subfolders in the browser - like Lightroom. 0 -
I am VERY disappointed - I am guessing that viewing all images in a folder and including all images from sub folders is not possible and that makes the cataloging feature of C1 nearly useless for me. I am VERY VERY disappointed this seems to be a GLARING Omission of basic functionality. 2
