Capture One 4.5.1 crashes as soon as you open this image.
A little snapshot I have made. I have worked with it, changed a few parameters and now always when you click on it, Capture One crashes with out of memory problems after a few seconds. It tries to focus.
I provided the raw image, the proxy and the settings file. Please tell me if you can reproduce the problem or if its combined with my 8 core system.

Opened your 'cat with spoon' on both a Mac notebook as on a WinXP SP3 machine with CO4.5.x (latest build). No crashes.
Sounds like you have a powerful system, but not much details provide yet and whether you have a crashes with this image only.
By the way, I ran this image on an XP with 256 MB RAM only and a single core. Not too much resources 😉0 -
I too have a 8 core system with 16 GB of RAM running Windows Vista x64 on a 1920x1600 display (that's important because larger displays force smaller images into the high quality preview mode which causes the "Focusing...").
When I first opened the image it took an exceptionally long time to focus, and Capture One was using 788 MB when it finished. I then closed the program and launched it again. This time when focusing Capture One grabbed 1.2 GB, and then spammed my screen with out of memory errors.
So there does seem to be a bug. I'd recommend opening a support case, because problems like this are nearly impossible for end users to trouble shoot.0 -
This explains a lot. For example on my 30" screen it always tries to focus and I have crashes every 30 minutes or so. It would be really a big usability improvement if this could be fixed. Here I can't open it at all. It grabs 1.2 GB and then crashes. Even at the first time.
Can maybe someone else test it with a screen of 1920x1200 or bigger please?
Its always a real pain to open a ticket. It seems you cant just write an email to them. Can maybe someone just point them to this topic? I am sure they are really interested in this reproducible bug with the attached image. Maybe a moderator or so...0 -
I thought of more feedback.... or are you all working on 19" displays? 0 -
That's a goodbye then, just because you're not willing to open a support ticket? How hard can it be (live, I mean). All the best. 0 -
I have this issue also. But it happens EVERY time I open capture 1. It is unusable because as you said, when I hit around 1.2g of ram ( I have seen 1.63g ). I get that pop-up and that it. All I can do is close c1-ver. 4.5.1 on my win xp pro mach. I only have 2g of ram. But cant use your product at all!!!!!
Please fix this!!!!!0 -
Is 4.5.2 out for us windows users???? 0 -
Hmmm... Interesting. Having never, in any version, had buggy issues with CO, last night I got my first "out of memory error". Same symptoms as the others and guess what? My screen is 1920x1200. 0 -

Don't feel left behind Scott over the 4.5.2/Mac update, if that is what are referring to. It was released to fix a Mac-only bug in 4.5.1. That said, Phase One showed signs here on the forum that 4.6 is in beta and we might see a release this month (I expect it to be a Christmas present 😉 ).0 -

Having the same problem. Installed Capture One 4.5.2, it worked once and ever since it crashes every time I try and run it..Literally..I click on the app icon, it bounces in the dock, get the spinning beach ball and then a window indicating it crashed..Very odd..any ideas why this happens? :/0 -
Koby, please see my reply in the CO4/Mac forum. For short: re-installing does not reset the application since setting files (often the culprit) remain in place. On the Mac forum I give some tips for removing setting files on the Mac version. 0 -

Yes, Scott, we users read this (being a user to user forum). No, we can't do anything about it. Occasionally the Phase One staff stop by the forums, but if you are having a problem that needs immediate attention (and it seems that you are) the only thing to do is to open a support request through the main site. Every time I have done so I've had a reply in less than 24 hours, and the issue solved within a short number of back-and-forths.
As for people who don't like the support request form, try to see things from Phase One's perspective. When you make a request there it doesn't get lost among 100s of other posts, it does get an official ticket number assigned, it does go through proper channels and can be escalated if the initial personnel cannot handle the request, and it also gets logged so it may be referenced in the future if someone else as the same problem or tagged as a bug that must be fixed before the next release.0 -
Scott I checked this image on both my XP and vista 64 machines and it has no problems I can find. I suggest that you update your video drivers or rplace the video board with a later model. I am using an ATI 3650 board which is relative inexpensive. (~$75.00) and supports OpenGL and Shader 4.0, which Adobe for one uses to speed graphic processing.
Send us the raw also.0 -
Scott
As Paul says we swing by here once in a while but realy, if you want quick support, contact Phase One Technical Suppport at http://support.phaseone.com

4.6 still has the same issue. Crashes on this photo. And if it only crashes on THIS photo, I can assure you, its not a problem with anything but your software. It seems to happen only with users having a resolution of 1920x1200. Maybe a 16:10 aspect ratio problem?
Oh and the raw is attached in the first posting. Just extract bug.rar and point your CO4.6 to the folder and click on the image. Make sure you have 1920x1200 dektop resolution. It should crash after a few seconds with Out of memory problem. It doesnt say more.0 -
OK, I understand now. My bad....
Hey good news here! The new updated 4.6 fixed my issues!! I can use this again!!
Sorry Mr. Christian.0
