Actually, if the exchange of conversion settings are not possible due to different algorithms used by the two applications, would it be possible to atleast output the tiff and embed it into the DNG...or output multiple tiffs into the DNG?

Yes, the files will be large, but it still beats moving and archiving multiple files between users and computers.

I don't think it'll do that exactly, but hopefully it will store the C1 data (which currently gets stored in the .plist files (Image Settings)) in the DNG file itself. Since dng uses xmp and the .plist files are xml, i think this would be fairly straight forward.

That would be a big improvemnet and make archiving files a lot easier.

I think it could even be possible to save both C1 settings and ACR settings in the same dng file. Of course these settings wouldn't be usable by the opposite programs, but it sure would be tidy! Open it in C1 and your previous C1 settings are retrived; open it in ARC and your previous ARC settings are retrived. They would need to find a way to figure out where the preview comes from.
