An update of CO 4.5 (or 4.6) is expected later this month. Though not an official statement, it came from the horse's mouth here on the forum. Hopefully it has support for the production models of the 5D Mk II as well.

    Hi Andy,

Same issues here (strong green casts and heavy black point) I have 2-5D Mark II's and can't use 4.5.2 to convert my raws. Looks like I'll be upgrading to CS4 sooner than expected.

Side note, I gave DPP a try and wasn't thrilled with the results.

I'm a longtime C1 user and hope full support for the 5D Mark II arrives soon.

...trust me, it s very soon. We are beta testing 4.6 now which will have full support for the 5DmkII.
The preliminary support was not very good due to it was made out of a few pre-production files which was not very representative for the final product.

    Thank you Ulf!

If you need another beta tester, please count me in.

    Have a good weekend.

@ Joseph - I came here tonight with this very issue in mind. Glad to see a response from Phase ONe. In the meanwhile, I discovered a "work around" - that Magne's 5D Hi-Sat profile is quite good on 5D Mark 2 files.

    Cheers,
    Hugh

    Hi Ulf!

I am also one of the "whistling for" EOS 5D2 support. Since the Christmas is approaching I am asking if your words posted on this forum: “If I say that you will have it before Christmas, Is it good enough?†have any wieght ?

    Hi Ulf,

It's been a couple of weeks and I wanted to see if you had an update on "full" support for the 5D Mark II?

    --

    Hugh,

Thanks for the info but since I upgraded to CS4 in order to process my 5D Mark II files, I'd rather not spend any more money on third-party profiles for C1.

Just wanted to add my name to those desperately waiting proper 5D Mark II support... As a loyal and long-time C1Pro user it's very frustrating not to be able to properly process images from that camera. And if I switch to something else (and go through another learning curve) there's a possibility that I won't come back to C1.

Funny, but SOME images from the same studio session (same exposure, lighting, everything except for the model's pose) taken just seconds apart are so heavily green that it is pretty much impossible to rescue them. Others look just fine. This is very strange to me.

I've temporarily resorted to using PhotoMatix (the HDR tool) to convert my 5DII raw files to 16-bit .tif files. That's slow and awkward, but at least the images come out great.

I've started to use Lightroom. It's a little different workflow but customizable. Compared with C1 V3.X I would say LR is a slower workflow, but compared with the new pro version of C1, it's pretty much a tossup. I'll have to see what C1 comes up with to decide which program to stick with, but I am pretty happy with LR

I'm having the same green problem and it's driving me crazy! I was having some success with my 5D II files at first, but after my first shoot, everything is unuseable in CO. I haven't yet made the move to CS4 and so I'm stuck using DPP, which I have never looked at before this week! I don't know the program, so it's slow going for me! At least I'm not at a complete stand still. I was hoping that Phase One would be true to their "before Christmas" word, but there's only a few hours left in this part of the world....

    Sigh......

There has been a slight delay. Please see post in CO4/Mac forum:

I am back to DPP temporarily as well. You can get decent output but there is a learning curve but work can be done and I am get to speed after 2 days use. At least I know why I am using Capture One.

Paul, if you used LR2 or ACR in CS4 you wouldn't be so sure! 😄

I'll give my 5D mkII files a CS4 treat later this week Iain and will let you know if feelings of doubt start to come up. 😉

I'd like to add my voice to the disappointment over the partial support for the 5D MkII.

I didn't realise the current release was so erratic with the RAW files - like others I get seemingly random colour casts, overstated contrast on some frames and a few other quirks.

Would be happy to put my hand up for some beta testing as well.

Interestingly I did a shoot last week with a very early release of Capture One 4 and the 1Ds MkIII, and it handled the images just fine without a specific profile. Even with 4.5.2 the current state of Capture One is unusable with the 5D MkII.

Using both versions of the Mark 3's and COne for years....I can assure you the V4 profiles for those cameras were included...and pretty good ones at that. You might be confused by the term "Generic" profile for various cameras...but that is the term for the standard camera profile for that model, not a profile used for all models....

Over the years, there have been some minor delays for support....however, since third party developers appear to be hostage to an actual production release, perhaps we should direct our posts to the manufactuers that refuse to divuldge shipping firmware. It would concern me also to develop a profile when Canon has rumors abounding there will be an almost immediate firmware upgrade for the 5D Mark 2.

I myself enclose here too...I am waiting for the C1 update, until then I use Cs4 Raw Import but since many years I am really a fan of C1 and use it as my prime raw converter.

So I hope that we do not have wait much longer.

Anyway I appreciate the new C1 v4.5.1 too.

Hi Guys, just join the forum, and just got a D5 mk II, just downloaded capture one pro and cant shoot into it, it see the camrea but I cant ajust iso or make a capture, I have read the above and agree with all the green casts etc. The only way I can see my raw files, is to download onto a decktop folder and load into capture from there,

Thanks for 4.6. I thought I was losing my mind with all these green cast photographs. Everything is cured!

i just got the canon 5d mark 11, and am so disappointed that the files wont load into my older version of capture one or cs3 and it seems capture one 4 isnt compatible with my operating system.. is there any way around re-buying all of my programs and doing a total overhaul?? i bought the camera quickly just before a big job, so am in urgent need of advice!!

What is your operating system, that you think that CO4 is not compatible with it? Have you seen image quality of CO4 already from your 5D mkII files? You will never look back.

Same situation. I'm not ready to buy Leopard yet, either (or buy a new laptop), but it looks like I'll have to do one or the other ... and fast.
