Working through images and UI Focus
I have just been working on around 100 images using a dual screen set up which is great BUT:
If the keyboard and mouse worked even closely to that of 3.x, and most other software, it would be fine.
And if I look really, really hard I can just about seethat the title bar goes from black to very dark grey when focus changes! VERY BAD GUI design.
I really sympathise with those that have a 100s of images per day to deal with.
I am trying to find a way to like version 4 Pro but PhaseOne you have made it very hard!
And by the way; why do I get different IPTC data transferred from my RAW if I produce a TIF or JPG? See my earlier post about IPTC Again.
I wanted to tag: tried using the recommended approach (arrow/number keys)but you have to be VERY CAREFUL where the UI has focus. Oh and you can't use the numeric key pad.
Wanted to tweak exposures but as soon as you select something in tools the UI Focus moves from the browser, so then you have to mouse-click back before you can select next image, So you are between mouse and keyboard all the time.
Same if you are going through setting white balance with the dropper in the viewer; you cannot step through images (you can in 3.x) you have to keep selecting the UI focus to the browser so that you can select next image- it adds miles of mouse movement and extra key strokes. Can we sue PhaseOne for RSI?

Martin,
if the focus is on the tools, Shift +/- will move you through the Browser. Providing the bugs are asleep.

I'll try it but I am very much a right handed mouse user with +/- really need both hands or at least the right hand. 0 -
Just tried it and Shift +/- didn't do a thing in any situation!
I like the results but it such hard work even to just use it as a RAW converter on other than single images!0 -
It would seem that Ctrl-arrow key works even when the focus is on the tools/viewer.
Please PhaseOne why does it need the Ctrl key? It didn't in 3.7 and it is TOTALLY COUNTER INTUITIVE (like most of the UI).0 -

I agree that the Ctrl+Arrow is a bit cumbersome. If it is going to be changed, I'd also like the "Web Forward" and "Web Back" keycodes to be mapped to next and previous image. That way every mouse with forward and back buttons would automatically work with Capture One. As it is, my Logitech has software which allows custom assignments on a per-program basis, so I've mapped those buttons to the Ctrl arrows which C1 expects.0
