Phase One, please implement these simple folder functions
I have moved from Lightroom to C1 and I am really happy with the image quality but I don't understand why it has such half baked folder management. You can add folders and rename them. But you can't move them and you can't delete them from the disk (but you can delete images from disk and move them). It's just weird that they would ship something that incomplete.
I have written quite a few apps that do folder management for a living and my guess is it would take any decent programmer less than a week to implement folder move and delete from disk. They already can do drag and drop so the framework is there. I just moved some folders around and it's a real PITA to move them in Finder and then reconnect them in C1.
Please Phase One, implement these feature. It's probably the best bang for the buck in development vs. user value you can deliver.

This is mainly a user forum, you should open a support case directly with PO: https://www.phaseone.com/en/SupportMain/ContactSupport/
As far as incomplete goes, that's been like that forever. C1 started mainly as a RAW converter, the "DAM" part is more of an afterthought, and badly implemented at that. I wouldn't hold my breath that this will change anytime soon, so you have to figure out a workflow around all the shortcomings. Your best bet is to do a search here in the forum and probably something will come up. Otherwise, start a new thread with a particular question and someone should be able to come up with an answer.0 -
I know there are workarounds but they are all very clunky. I just find it hard to believe they would leave such basic features out when they are so easy to implement. This is really not difficult. It's basic stuff you can do in a few days. 0 -
You're preaching to the choir 😊 0
