Unintended special characters for keyboard shortcuts
Hello,
I've tried to make my own set of keyboard shortcuts and all I get are special characters like To be a bit more specific, for those 5 shortcuts I've pressed G, V, C, A, I, instead of those unfamiliar signs.
Anybody knows what is wrong?
Capture One 7.1.5 on Mavericks, U.S. Extended keyboard in System preferences, Apple wireless keyboard.

Does anyone experienced this kind of behaviour?
Is there anyone kind enough want to try this for himself, on his computer, to see if he/she gets the same results?
Thanks in advance.0 -
I was having a similar problem using the "E" key for "hide/show viewer" in keyboard shortcuts, getting an accent above the E going to the right. Maybe a work around is to cut and paste the letter. 0 -
I noticed this problem as well. Something seems to have changed from 7.1.3 to 7.1.5.
A, E, I, O and U also go to those same symbols0 -
This is still happening to me as well. It's beyond annoying. It's really annoying to have to retrain yourself I opened a support case with Phase months ago.. but nothing had changed. Way to drop the ball, Phase, as usual. 0 -

Well that's just mean. 😭
This issue is due to a change in the Mac OS, where the prompt to protect certain characters from being entered into the Keyword field is honored the first time, and then ignored if you try again.
What you should see is something along the lines of "Cannot edit because... is in use". Which you do, the first time but then if you try again, it allows you to edit the field with a non-operational Key.
It's a bit of a safety workaround, allowing you to use a Key that doesn't exist as appose to refusing to let you edit the field.
There is a workaround for the issue, where you can edit the actual XML file directly in something like TextEdit. We're looking into this and hope we can find a solution soon. Otherwise you're welcome to contact support to know more about the workaround.0 -
For my part, after hours and hours of frustration, I've found this workaround:
Add Unicode HEX input keyboard in System Preferences, edit C.O. keyboard shortcuts as you wish, then switch back to your preferred keyboard layout. Then let me know if I was right. (I bet I am 😄 ).
Worked for me on two computers running 7.1.5. and Mavericks.0 -
As an addendum to Drew's post about text edit, i you have Xcode installed you can edit the keyboard shortcut plist files directly. They are stored in User>Library>Application Support>Capture One>Keyboard Shortcuts 0
