Thanks for letting us know. I hope that some of our expectations regarding an enhanced convergence with the user-friendliness of C1 Pro 3.7.9 and its effective tools will be met, as will as often repeated feature and lost-feature requests . Happy New Year.

    - Abandon of Shift modifier key for operating multiple selected images; introduction of "Edit Primary Only" (toggle)

Ok so how do we do now to develop only one of a selection ?
We finally got used to this Shift-Apple-D and you get rid of it ?

    Another important problem :
Is there a way to assign a software to a developed file ?
You know I would like to be able to develop a whole shoot and open a file in photoshop when I double-click on it. (yeah without having to drag it to the dock)

The introduction of "Edit Primary Variant Only" (toggle) should make it easier for both who loved and hated the modifier key. You can either leave it in a Off (default) or On state, or use it at will. The state is persistent after quitting CO4.6. No need to use the shift (or Option) key anymore.

    /text edited/
When "Edit Primary Variant Only" is ON (orange button) adjustments and functions like processing, deleting and so on apply only to the primary selected (you can have multiple images selected which is shown by a white border around the thumbnail but only one is primary selected = FAT white border). This allows you to apply an adjustment to a single image while multiple images are selected.
When "Edit Primary Variant Only" is OFF (gray button) adjustments and functions like processing, deleting and so on apply to ALL selected without the need to use the modifier key.
    /end edit/

The state of the "Edit Primary Variant Only" (toggle) is reflected in the color of its quick button on the toolbar and in the Edit menu.

Regarding 2nd question: go to Output tool tab and look for 'Open With' setting on the Basic tab of the Process Recipe tool.

    Still no iptc/metadata templates?
Can't seem to find them, (that is if V4 has been updated to include them?)

Paul, Thank you for your "Edit Primary Only" explanation.
Concerning my second question : "Open With" opens every file as they are developed. That's not what I want to achieve. I process around 2000 files a day, I want them to be "photoshop ready", just as we could achieve in 3.X.
Is there a way to avoid going to "info" on the finder and assign photoshop to the files ?

Olivier, that is a OS X setting. Open Info of the processed file, assign Photoshop and hit the Change All button just below it. Now all your JPGs or TIFFs (depending on which file you performed the action on) will be opened in Photoshop by default.

When will we be getting the stitching tool to support the Flex adapter back? This is something I need and is holding me back from using the new version.

Thank you again Paul. I was wondering if there was a way to do this in C1 as it used to in 3.x

I just started using the Windows version of ver 4.6 (upgraded from ver 3.7) ... sorry for posting here, but this was this was the only explanatin of the new "Edit Primary Only" toggle.

I could be reading the Instruction Manual incorrectly, but Paul's explanation: "When "Edit Primary Only" is OFF adjustments and functions like processing, deleting and so on apply only to the primary selected ..." (underlining is mine) appears to conflict the Instruction Manual which says (of the Edit Primary Only toggle): "If the button is NOT activated you will automatically adjust all selected, when using the “A†function, Import, Rotate, Move-to, reset Adjustments, Trash, Rating, Process." (page 29 of the Windows Manual, underlining is mine).

When I unchecked the Edit Primary Only toggle, selected several images in the browser, and clicked A button (auto) in Levels, all selected images were affected.

So it appears (at least in my Windows version) that with Edit Primary Only UNCHECKED, all selected images will be affected by the action.

    Allen,
You are right and I was wrong. It's that simple 😉
I reversed the description of the Edit Primary Variants Only toggle. Thanks for enlighten us.

I have corrected the original posting about the Edit Primary Variant Only toggle.
