Migration from Aperture to C1: I cannot edit some images

I'm a newcomer on C1 PRO 8.
I tried it for a month and recently I bought a license. Then I imported my 2 Aperture libraries to 2 different C1 catalogs (45.000 + 10.000 pictures).
While trying to re-elaborate some picture, I noticed that I cannot edit all images.
In particular, I was trying to use the spot removal tool, but the circle cursor didn't appear on some RAW and JPG images. On others, it was just fine. The same happens with the others editing tools.
I also noticed that I cannot create a variant for the "blocked" images, but the the right to read or write them is corretly enabled on the OS.
The pictures have been taken with a Sony A99, A900, A450 and a Canon Powershot G15.
Any idea?

    To summarize, because I am not sure I read this correctly: you can not use the spot removal tool on some images. The inability to use other editing tools, as well as creating variants, applies to these same images.

    I suggest to open a few of these images in another catalog, just for testing. If these images are currently inside their catalog, export them as original first.

    Do you have CO Pro or CO Pro (for Sony)?

    I confirm that the inability to use the editing tools applies only to some images of my catalog, not to all of them.
    I'm using CO 8 Pro (full edition).
    I will test what you suggest and give a feedback.

    I have exported 3 pictures and imported them in a new catalog.
    Now I can modify them with the editing tools.

    I also checked the catalog DB with the command File-->Verify Catalog.

    There was the following error in the test sequence:
    ...
    Database content error
    The database failed verification.
    The database failed a full verification check.

    Verifica Database FALLITO

    Riparazione database...

    Creating backup
    Commencing database transfer
    Transfer in progress
    Transfer complete
    Backup complete
    Fixing: Beginning content fixes
    Fixing: Variants with missing local adjustment layer UUIDs
    Fixing: Catalog folder stacks missing
    Fixing: Committing content fixes
    Fixing Complete

    Ripara Database OK


    Even after the positive database repair, it was not possibile to edit the 3 exported images (and many others) in the original catalog.

    If there is any suggestion, I will probably delete the broken catalog, create a new one and import again the Aperture library.

    I am having the same exact issue as the op.
    I can't edit, rate, color tag.. etc some photos. These have a crossed pencil icon in the corner (read only).

    Before migrating my aperture library, I tested C1 extensively on a 200 pics test library and it was flawless, I loved it! and decided to import my 80000 pics library and it all went fine, until I tried to start organizing some pics from a recent album and got this "read only" icon on some pics.

    I am not sure re-importing will solve this because I took a couple of jpgs and imported them in a test catalogue and faced the same again!

    Any update on this?

    As a recent Aperture to C1 convert, I did run into the same problem with read-only images.

    For me, I found that if the imported image was less than 500 (or 512 - can't remember) px wide or tall, C1 tagged them as read-only. This happened with older images I took many years ago that were 640x480.

    Anyway, I created a smart album using the image size as a filter and processed them with a recipe which increased the size above those minimums. Once I re-imported the re-sized images, I was able to edit.

    Thanks you! will check this later on and confirm. It may be the case as I have some little jpgs which were some of the pics I couldn't tag, not sure that they're that little though!

    Hi, i have done the same migration with 300.000 pictures and i don't have the read only problem.

    After importation you need to check the database, for all my migration the capture one was mark as corrupted but a simple check solve the problem.

    Actually for me CO is a perfect replacement of Aperture and more powerful tools.
