Save metadata to file
Hello there,
Has anyone found a streamlined approach to entering and saving metadata to an image file.
I'd like to save metadata changes to the embedded IPTC fields, so this data can read by other browser editing applications? IS there a quick way to do this?
In Lightroom you just have to hit Cmd- S and the data is saved in the file. I can't find anything like this in Capture One.
Many thanks,
Alex

This is only possible using XMP sidecar files.
Capture One will never write into the original files for safety reasons.0 -
Thats a shame.
I like to be able to embed my copyright info etc into the files. This seems to me to be an important safety measure in terms of helping prevent breaches of copyright.0 -
You can use an external EXIF editor for that. 0 -
When you export your files, the metadata will be embedded. Or do you distribute your originals? 0 -
This is actually for files for internal use only. These files are raw image files which I would like access across different applications. Media Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop.
Currently I use Lightroom to keyword and add metadata, rate and edit. Then I import the raw files marked for processing into Capture One. Then finally create a Media Pro file for archiving.
I'd prefer to do this all within Capture One or Media Pro but currently to my mind the process is more labour intensive and not as user friendly as Lightroom. Lightroom allows metadata to be saved to the files with cmd-S. Quick and simple, once done I know its embedded and will be read by other software. I am sure there is a good way to do this with CaptureOne/Media Pro but its not obvious and I can't find any online guidance.0 -

In CO, it is saved to XMP once you deselect the file or files. No need to save explicitly.
Remember to enable full-sync.0
