Can't export from tif or jpeg

OK, no answers yet lol... So after more experimenting, I don't think C1 is going to replace LR5 for my workflow, but is a very suitable replacement for Capture NX2 raw file editing and converting.

If I create a jpeg or tiff from the original raw file in C1, and then import that jpeg file into C1 for image management and leave it alone or edit it, it is fine, and I can export/create a new jpeg with any modifications made to it in C1. If however, I export that jpeg to another program for further editing, C1 won't automatically refresh its library to display the modified jpeg (as LR does). It keeps the old version of the jpeg in the library, even though it has been overwritten by the external program.

If I remove said jpeg from the library in C1, and re-import it, it will then pick up the new jpeg with the external modifications, but if I then try to export that jpeg (whether further edited in C1 or not) for publication, that's when it errors out - it does not like modified jpegs from other programs. I think C1 is looking for the exact same jpeg it created (and tagged?) itself, and will not export/create a new jpeg file to another location after the jpeg has been modified by an external program.

This will not work for me, as after I have a jpeg I sometimes make minor edits to those jpegs within another program, or within LR (or in this case C1), and am able to publish that new jpeg that now contains all the combined modifications from the raw edit, the external editor and LR.

This is a bummer, I was hoping to not have to keep LR with C1, but looks like I will simply be able to replace CNX2 with C1. C1 is more user friendly, quicker, and the image quality results are at the least on par with CNX2.

    Thanks for listening!

    Hi,

are you sure you have JPEG and TIFF editing enabled in Preferences / Editing? I wouldn't say that C1 is the best tool for the final tweaks you want to do to the JPG or TIF files but I'm not aware of some general issue which wouldn't allow for this (other than having the editing of such files disabled).
