Slow Processing of Panasonic Files

Why does C1-7 Pro take so long processing (including using the Navigator) of Panasonic Files ? ..

A 12Mp GF1 takes 5 seconds per image and a 16Mp G3 one even longer (I was processing RAWs for someone) whereas my 1DS3 files (21mP) and ones from the Samsung NX1000 (20Mp) take around 2 seconds , 24Mp images from my press cam (D7100) about 3 seconds ..strange !! . also when navigating Panasonic files, It`s horribly slow if a batch is developing, this is a LOT faster with the far larger files from Canon/Nikon/Samsung ..

I found that turning the Panasonic files into DNGs first speeded things back up but Adobe DNG adds unwanted lens corrections which can`t be removed afterwards and you lose the proper colour profile you get with the native images.

  Unfortunately not all RAW files are built the same.
  Some are easier to render, others as you've seen are not so easy and therefore take longer to properly process.

  Weird thing is that I didn`t notice this in Capture one 5 , usually the higher the pixel count, the longer it took . certainly I never saw a 12Mp file taking 3X that of a 22Mp one unless it was weird stuff . Fuji files with Super CCD , EXR or that awful X-Trans CFA really hold things up and always have .
  
  BTW OpenCL and even the relatively humble Nvidia GeForce 750Ti makes a massive difference to processing, though those Panasonic files are real sluggards.

  Capture One 5 and Capture One 6 are completely different Image Processing engines.
  So they're simpler and result in lower quality files.
  
  Capture One 7 and the revised Engine will use more data, result in better images and if the resources of your hardware haven't changed it stands to reason that the more robust processing engine will take longer.
